About the Spotlight:
Teaching the fundamentals and history of Campbellocking. Students will learn the foundation, techniques, and applied concepts of the funk-style street dance known as Locking aka Campbellock. Students will also be learning the history of this dance from its origins in Los Angles and its founder and creator, Don Campbell, to understanding the origins of its movements and how it came to be. While, learning its application in both choreography and freestyle. The goals and intentions are to introduce new students to Campbellocking and share how awesome this style really is!! And what I want the students to get out of this class is the opportunity to learn and experience the versatility and power of Campbellock through performance and dance.

Get to know Kevin
Kevin Saicheur began dancing in high school of 2007, breakdancing with friends and learning from YouTube. He started sneaking into sessions with the UC Davis Breakdance and Popping club in 2008, where he started to take dance more seriously. Over the following years, Kevin has learned various styles including Popping, Hip Hop, Locking, and House. All of which have led to opportunities to dance with amazing companies and individuals such as the Bay Area Lockers, the Great House of Dance, MK Modern, The PROJECT co., Tribe Crew, Syndicate, Brandon “Knowbody” Greathouse, Brian “Lil B” Perez, Keeley “Lockn’ Key” Kaukimoce, Francis Tyrell and most recently, Boom Chaka Lockers. Kevin truly values freestyle, its foundations, the culture and history behind them; and believe that every dancer could benefit learning from it.
