What were your initial thoughts as you completed this workshop? How do you feel as the instructor/host?
Great- all students expressed a lot of gratitude about being able to attend a real life in-studio class. It was almost a year since I taught an in-studio workshop in the bay area and seeing improvement in the students who have been training online with me regularly since Covid started was especially amazing! What did you do/teach differently in this workshop in comparison to your other classes?
I pushed the students a bit with this choreo- in both movement and musicality. What was your most enjoyable moment?
Watching the students make the choreography their own and perform for their peers! As always, witnessing students hype up and support their friends at the end of class (during solo and small group performances) makes me so happy.
What are you hoping to share with your students who missed this experience?

Libby's Background:
If there is one thing that makes Libby come alive, its dancing. Libby’s background in dance includes West African, classical ballet, hip hop, Jamaican Dancehall and Hula Hoop dance. She enjoys fusing various tropical dance styles in her choreographed routines for Dancehall, which is now the perfect platform for her to share her passion with others! Libby has just returned from her Dancehall training in Jamaica, excited to bring all her new found knowledge to her special Spotlight!
Libby is an energetic and passionate dance director, performer and choreographer in the West Coast commercial dance industry. Originally from upstate NY and currently between the Bay Area and LA, she is dedicated to sharing her passion for the arts and has traveled internationally and all over the US teaching master workshops and weekly dance classes. As Talent Director of Rae Agency dance company she was head choreographer and directs rehearsals and auditions, creating performance opportunities for local Bay Area dancers. She has many years of experience in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, West African and speciality cirque: hula hoop. Over the past few years, she has immersed herself deeply in dancehall training, regularly traveling to Kingston, Jamaica to study and and host dance camps in Kingston, Jamaica. Libby has either choreographed for or has been seen performing for Facebook, Google, Golden State Warriors, Verizon, MassMutual, Occulus, Toyota, Salesforce, Oracle and artists like Bebe Rexha, Planet Booty, and many more.

The purpose of this 2 day structure is to give students the time and space to master the choreography and to deepen your dance practice. You will learn the choreography the first day, have time to practice on your own and we will clean and film on the second day.

Come connect to your inner BAD GYAL! The Dancehall Queen is back after training in Jamaica perfecting her skill and love for Dancehall. With some new moves in her body, she is HERE IN SF and is ready to give us a special 4-week Dancehall Heels Spotlight beginning Friday, January 11th.
Lets face it, the winter always has us dreaming of escaping to the tropics. What better way to do it than throwing on your heels and learning some hot female dancehall steps in a fun-filled party atmosphere? This one-of-a-kind series combines heel choreography with the hottest authentic dancehall terminology and steps coming out of Jamaican dancehall culture today. This series will be confidence-building and empowering for all levels! Over the course of the month you will learn a variety of dancehall steps that emphasize wining your waist, a combo choreographed with those steps and insight into the culture that inspires these steps.
