Born and raised and in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA this also home to where J.J. started his dance career. Working in local productions such as Grease, and Chicago. Straight out of high school he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he trained at Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio & Millennium Dance Complex training in styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Whacking, Voguing, and House. Training with industry professionals led to opportunities to work with people such as Howie Mandel, NappyTabs, and Jaquel Knight, Matt Cady and many more; all while attending college at Cal State Northridge, where he earned his degree in Kinesiology and Dance. After 6 years in L.A. J.J. moved across the pond to London, UK and signed to Box Artist Management (B.A.M.) Agency where he worked with artist such as Little Mix, and Rebecca Ferguson and danced on Britain's Got Talent. He was also co-director of Studio 68's Training Academy, teaching and molding dancers who were looking to get into the professional dance industry! ​ In 2014 J.J. moved back to the Bay Area where he continues to teach and inspire others through his knowledge, skills, and passion.


About the Intensive

Jazz Dance Intensive with The Killah is a two-day dance intensive spotlighting the dance style Jazz. Day one will focus on two elements: Conditioning and Technique. The conditioning portion is going to challenge dancers' endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility through dance-focused exercises. Technique will focus on center floorwork and then applying that to movement and combination across the floor. Day two will focus on the last two elements: Choreography and Performance. Students will have an hour and a half to learn and memorize a set of Jazz choreography. Lastly, students will learn skills that will help strengthen students' abilities to perform the choreography.


About JJ

JJ 'The Killah is a dancer, performer, choreographer, and creative director from SF, CA. He has spent the last 15+ years dancing across the globe from Los Angeles to London, UK working in both television and stage from Grease to Britain's Got Talent.
